Hillsdale Wyoming Chicken Cam

We have 14 chickens that were born on the 16th of May 2007, they are Rhode Island Reds. The Rhode Island Reds are very good egg layers. We expect them to start laying around the 21st of November 2007 when they will be 27 weeks old and they should lay around 250 - 300 eggs per year for a total of about 3500 - 4200 eggs per year. They lay light brown large eggs. This breed is very friendly and cold tolerant and should do just fine here during the bitter cold winters here in Wyoming.
Electricity for the chicken house is provided by a 400 watt wind turbine and two 75 watt solar panels. This charges up a bank of 4 batteries. The batteries are then connected to a 800 watt power inverter to convert the 12 volts DC to 120 volts AC. This provides enough power to light the chicken house and power a 250 watt heat lamp and of course the video camera that takes pictures.
